Quick Arts lets you cast magic on the field, while EX Chains lets allies perform linked attacks during command battles. These additions make combat more exhilarating and comfortable.

The game adopts a chapter-selection structure in which different party members follow different scenarios, creating a deeper, multilayered story. Numerous activities for dedicated players, a substantial free-exploration dungeon, and a convenient high-speed mode are also included.

A story set in the culturally diverse Republic of Calvard

With the threat of the mafia organization Almata gone, the Republic of Calvard has regained its former peace. In a corner of the capital, Edith, a gruesome incident occurs: a special-forces unit is brutally murdered by an unknown assailant.

Who committed the massacre?

The police and Bracer Guild move to bring the situation under control. Sensing new unrest, forces from the underworld begin to act behind the scenes.

Amid all this, the spriggan Van Arkride receives an unexpected visitor, prompting him to begin an investigation of his own.

The distinctive Trails through Daybreak system transitions seamlessly from field battles to command-based battles, combining speed and strategy. Quick Arts now also enables magic to be cast directly on the field.

Travel across Calvard with your collaborators

In Trails through Daybreak II, Van and his collaborators split up and act separately in different parts of Calvard.

A story that progresses through chapter selection

Each act uses a chapter-selection structure. The main party members differ from chapter to chapter, and individual stories unfold for each group.

Special missions may occur in some chapters

Depending on the abilities of the characters appearing in a chapter, special missions may occur during the story, such as hacking the orbal network while controlling the Hollow Core AI Mare, or tailing a target using Swin's abilities.

Save-data connection with the previous game

If you have save data from The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, your play achievements can carry over. Some characters may also react differently depending on what you did in the previous game.
