Acclaimed action RPG Ys VIII passes 500,000 sales

The latest entry in the classic Ys action RPG series offers simple, exhilarating party battles, stirring background music that makes combat even more exciting, and Castaway Village, a base you develop together with the other people stranded on the island.

Its high level of polish and distinctive systems earned praise from newcomers as well as existing players, and Ys VIII received the Users' Choice Award at the 2017 PlayStation Awards.

The game enjoyed an unusually long period of sustained sales for a console title, passing 500,000 copies sold worldwide. At the time this package was introduced, sales continued to grow, particularly among new players.

A Christmas Gift Package celebrating the milestone

To celebrate Ys VIII's lasting popularity and more than 500,000 sales, the Christmas Gift Package was introduced as an affordable seasonal release with special Christmas packaging.

The game content is the same as the previously released PlayStation 4 version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana.
