Rent-A-Girlfriend TV Series

Can real love begin with a rental?

A live-action adaptation of a hugely discussed manga with more than ten million copies in circulation! Ryusei Onishi of Naniwa Danshi stars in a romantic comedy exploring new ground through a love story that begins with a rental.

Ryusei Onishi stars, with Hiyori Sakurada as the heroine. The romantic comedy follows the hapless but straightforwardly kind protagonist, Kazuya, and the exceptionally beautiful rental girlfriend Chizuru. Onishi plays Kazuya as unimpressive yet kind, at times showing a more masculine side, while his uninhibited performance has attracted attention. In her first romantic comedy, Sakurada plays a heroine whose appeal includes both her cuteness and her contrasting sides.

The original romantic comedy manga has been serialised in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2017 and surpassed ten million copies in 2021. With its second television anime season broadcasting from July 2022, this much-discussed title receives a live-action drama adaptation.

The formidable heroines deserve attention! Alongside central heroine Chizuru Mizuhara are charming, distinctive girls: Kazuya's first girlfriend Mami Nanami, played by Shiori Akita; Ruka Sarashina, who falls for Kazuya at first sight, played by Mio Kudo; and Chizuru's reticent junior Sumi Sakurasawa, played by Aika Sawaguchi. These cute, individual heroines draw Kazuya into a whirlwind of romance.

Story Kazuya Kinoshita, played by Ryusei Onishi, is a foolish, good-for-nothing university student heading straight for an unpopular life. After his first girlfriend, Mami Nanami, immediately dumps him, he half-desperately orders a rental girlfriend to soothe his wounded heart. Chizuru Mizuhara, played by Hiyori Sakurada, arrives: an ideal girlfriend with a beautiful face and figure, quick wits and a considerate manner.
