Space Sheriff Gavan TV Series

To mark the fortieth anniversary of the series' first broadcast, Space Sheriff Gavan returns in an affordable Blu-ray box edition. Created as a new kind of hero, Gavan became the popular first entry in both the Metal Hero and Space Sheriff series.

In January 2012, thirty years later, the character returned in the hit film Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie. A wholly new standalone film, Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie, followed that October. Embraced both by devoted fans of the original broadcast and by children enjoying today's Super Sentai and Kamen Rider series, Gavan is a hero who crosses generations.

Box two contains episodes twenty-three through forty-four on four Blu-rays. The first disc contains episodes twenty-three through twenty-seven and the concluding part of a special roundtable discussion featuring Kenji Ohba, who plays Retsu Ichijoji, Gavan suit actor Jun Murakami and action director Osamu Kaneda. The second disc contains episodes twenty-eight through thirty-three, the third episodes thirty-four through thirty-nine and the fourth episodes forty through forty-four.

The cast includes Kenji Ohba, Wakiko Kano, Toshiaki Nishizawa, Kyoko Nashiro and Masayuki Suzuki, among others. The series originally aired on the TV Asahi network from March 1982 to February 1983 and is presented in a negative-scan HD remaster.
