The Rising of the Shield Hero Animation

Revered yet w(e)ary. The fourth season of the hit rise-to-power fantasy began its television anime broadcast in July 2025.

Preparing to face the Phoenix, one of the Four Guardian Beasts whose resurrection is drawing near, Shield Hero Naofumi Iwatani confronts the other three heroes in order to bring the feuding Four Cardinal Heroes together, eventually reaching a reconciliation.

A misunderstanding, however, leads others to believe that Raphtalia intends to claim the throne. Assassins from a country called Q'ten Lo begin targeting her life. To negotiate with Q'ten Lo, Naofumi visits Siltvelt, the demi-human country from which the only connecting ships depart.

The demi-humans who worship the Shield Hero welcome him enthusiastically, but Siltvelt is far from united, and some do not welcome Naofumi and his companions. Q'ten Lo is also gripped by political instability, and Raphtalia is elevated into a symbol of revolution. In this increasingly chaotic situation, can Naofumi become the light that guides his companions?

Video extras include the creditless ending and episode previews. The original first-production bonuses were an illustrated jacket featuring character-concept and anime artwork, and a special booklet containing a newly written story by the original author. These limited bonuses depend on remaining first-production stock and are not guaranteed.
