Space Battleship Yamato Anime

In the year 2203, the water planet Aquarius approaches Earth on a vast elliptical orbit while another catastrophe unfolds at the heart of the galaxy. An unknown galaxy has emerged from another dimension and collided with the Milky Way, destroying stars in its path. Sent to investigate, Yamato begins a voyage that will place the ship and its crew before their final great trial.

Final Yamato is presented in a large-format, 32 cm square jacket as part of the EMOTION Big Jacket Collection. The approximately 163-minute feature is accompanied by around 28 minutes of supplements, including a teaser, theatrical trailer and volumes 12 and 13 of Ototan Yamato, miniature stories constructed from the series’ sound effects. Extracts from the theatrical programme appear as still-image material, and the presentation retains the original-release scene involving Susumu Kodai and Yuki Mori.

The film features Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio surround sound, with portions of the programme in mono, and has no subtitles.
