Acclaim, sustained success and more than 500,000 copies sold

Ys VIII is a traditional action RPG whose straightforward, exhilarating party battles, passionate battle music and Castaway Village—where you develop your base together with fellow castaways—earned praise from new players for their high quality and distinctive systems.

The game received the Users' Choice Award at the PlayStation Awards in 2017.

It achieved unusually sustained sales for a console title and surpassed 500,000 copies sold worldwide. At the time this edition was announced, sales were continuing to grow, particularly among new players.

A more accessible edition to celebrate the next game

In 2019, to celebrate the announced release of the series' next game, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, the long-selling Ys VIII returned in a Super Price edition with an even more accessible original launch price.

The game content is identical to the previously released PlayStation 4 version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA.
