A Couple of Cuckoos Anime

Lives and love cross paths in a big way. The hugely popular romantic comedy serialised in Weekly Shonen Magazine receives its long-awaited television anime adaptation.

The original comic A Couple of Cuckoos was serialised in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine by Miki Yoshikawa, creator of Flunk Punk Rumble and Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches. A boy and girl switched at birth become engaged and begin living together. Adding a female classmate and the boy's younger sister by upbringing creates a four-sided relationship among four distinctive, appealing characters. The premise captivated readers from the start, with the collected comics receiving repeated reprints. This leading romantic-comedy manga began its long-awaited television anime broadcast in April 2022.

The original first-press offer featured an Aya Takano-illustrated digipak, special leaflet and a heroine photograph reproducing a memorable manga scene with beautiful colouring. The retailer marks these three first-press bonuses as no longer available, so they are excluded from this current regular-edition listing. The historical announcement's first-press packaging is not promised as included.

Regular extras include the mini-anime A Couple of Cuckoos' Casual Moments, featuring the cute chibi characters in motion, and web previews. This volume includes mini-anime entries 1–5. Main episodes 10–12 are included.

Story: Nagi Umino is a high-school student who was switched with another baby at birth and is finally about to meet his biological parents. On that day he happens to meet Erika Amano, a student at a prestigious girls' school. Wanting to stop a marriage to her fiance, she all but forces him to pretend to be her boyfriend. Yet these two are precisely the children who were switched, and each other's intended partners. Parents who cherish both children recognise Nagi and Erika as fiances, and they begin living together. Nagi, who loves his classmate Hiro Segawa, and Erika, who rebels against her father, agree not to interfere in one another's lives. An awkward, hectic romantic comedy of intersecting lives begins.
