Mazinger Z Nippon Columbia Anime Music

The first Mazinger Z background-music album arrived in 1983, years after the original 1972 television broadcast. Chumei Watanabe’s music brings together the robotic battles and the lives of Koji, Sayaka and Boss, alongside title and insert songs performed by Ichiro Mizuki.

ANIMEX 1200 revisits notable and rare recordings from Columbia’s animation catalogue. This reissue belongs to a group of fifteen popular titles brought back after their original limited runs sold out, responding to requests from listeners. The music has been digitally remastered, while the recordings retain the character of their original era.
