A battle in the bitter cold becomes a story of warm friendship

The original tactical RPG Valkyria Chronicles series, which had sold more than one million copies worldwide, returns with a new story and new characters. It portrays human drama through a war fought in a fictional Europe. Its distinctive CANVAS drawing system, resembling hand-drawn illustration, and innovative BLiTZ battle system, combining strategy and action, evolve further with the latest technology. Character designs are by Raita Honjou, with music by Hitoshi Sakimoto.

That war was our youth

In the year 1935, Europe is divided between the Federation, an alliance of republican nations, and the Empire, an autocratic monarchy. Struggling against the Empire's overwhelming material resources, the Federation launches a major counteroffensive, Operation Northern Cross, to strike the imperial capital and overturn its disadvantage.

Claude of the Federation army's Squad E takes part in the operation. Amid bonds with his comrades, the hopes entrusted to him and many sacrifices, his determination to see the mission through is tested. The game portrays a sad yet passionate youth that could only have emerged under the fires of war.

CANVAS brings hand-drawn illustration to life in 3D

The CANVAS graphical style animates hand-painted watercolour illustrations. It pursues an even more hand-drawn appearance with greater density, evolving into a warm yet detailed form of expression. Misaligned outlines, colours extending beyond their boundaries, hatched shadows and sound effects appearing as written words create a distinctive game world and invite you into its story.

BLiTZ combines strategy and action

The BLiTZ battle system evolves with the largest maps in the series, increased unit numbers and a new soldier class. Artillery interception adds further immediacy to the battlefield. Actively move your characters, repel enemy forces and experience running through the fighting in real time.

Original Memorial Pack physical contents

The 10th Anniversary Memorial Pack originally included the game, the 10th Anniversary Soundtrack and the 10th Anniversary Illustration Book.

The soundtrack CD presents carefully selected music from four games in the series. The illustration book looks back over those four games through their artwork, with a cover newly drawn for the volume by Raita Honjou. The original listing specified a planned B5-format, 72-page book.

This is a Used item; the presence and condition of original physical extras depend on the individual copy.
