TsumaSho: If My Wife Becomes an Elementary School Student Vol. 3 Standard Edition Blu-ray continues Yayu Murata's story of a family confronting an impossible reunion. Ten years after Takae's death, her husband Keisuke Niijima is still struggling with grief when Marika Shiraishi, a young schoolgirl, arrives claiming to be his late wife. The animated adaptation explores both the comfort of that reunion and the responsibilities it brings.
Episodes 5 and 6 focus on the difficulties in Marika's home. Takae learns that her mother, Chika, plans to remarry and move away. Although she fears being separated from Keisuke and Mai, they reassure her that distance need not end their relationship. Despite Chika's neglect, Takae hopes that the marriage will bring her happiness and tries to build a connection with her future partner.
When Chika sees her daughter spending time with the Niijimas, however, she confronts her. Takae cannot explain the truth, and her silence only makes matters worse. Witnessing Chika's anger gives Keisuke his first real understanding of Marika's situation. He wants to help, but must face the painful fact that, in the eyes of the world, they are unrelated.
The approximately 46-minute Blu-ray includes commentary on episode 6 by Daisuke Hirakawa and Sachiko Kojima, together with the main promotional video. Hirakawa voices Keisuke, Aoi Yuki plays Takae and Marika, and Maiko Nomura voices Mai. This standard edition presents the episodes in 16:9 widescreen with Japanese Linear PCM audio, no subtitles and region-free playback.
