Space Battleship Yamato Nippon Columbia Anime Music

Yamato Sound Almanac explores the musical history of Space Battleship Yamato, from its first television series in 1974 through Final Yamato in 1983. This album belongs to the archive’s fifth release group.

Space Battleship Yamato 2 began broadcasting in 1978 as the second television series and became a major hit, reaching a peak audience rating of 29.1%. This long-awaited background-music collection joins the separately released Part 2 in completing the series’ dramatic score; across the two collections, approximately thirty recordings were announced as first commercial releases.
