Pretty Cure Animation

Sing, dance and share the love with your fans! Together with you, everything sparkles. “Because you are here, we can shine and become stronger!” In its twenty-second year, Pretty Cure takes on an idol theme for the first time, bringing two much-admired worlds together in a colourful new stage of singing, dancing and battling.

The presence of “you” gives these Precure their strength. Their songs, dances and interactions with fans are more than a performance: they can help someone shine. In turn, the audience’s encouragement makes the heroines shine even brighter. When danger strikes, bonds with friends and fans give them the strength and courage to face their enemies. Raise your Kiraki Light and cheer them on!

Memorable songs and dance performances are supported by creators who have helped shape Pretty Cure’s music over many years. The principal performers, including Misato Matsuoka, Minami Takahashi, Natsumi Takamori, Yoshino Nanjo and Miharu Hanai, bring experience across multimedia productions. Snow Man’s Daisuke Sakuma also appears as the story’s legendary idol, Kaito Hibiki.

“I’m Uta Sakura, a second-year middle-school student who loves to sing!” While walking her dog Kyu-chan, Uta spots something like an enormous peach floating down the river. Inside is Purirun, a cute fairy with a distinctive way of speaking, who has come in search of the legendary saviours known as Idol Precure. Purirun’s home, the once-peaceful and sparkling KirakiLand, has been plunged into darkness by Darkine, leader of the Chokkiri Gang.

Uta joins Purirun to look for someone whose light can chase away that darkness: someone bright, lively and full of smiles. Then the Chokkiri Gang arrives in Hanamichi Town and steals the residents’ sparkle. “I want to make everyone shine—with my song!” At that moment, the Precure Ribbon and Idol Heart Brooch appear, and Uta transforms into the legendary Cure Idol. With singing, dancing and attention for her fans, she is ready to bring sparkle to everyone. The stage shared by Uta and you begins now!

This volume contains the first twelve episodes. Extras include transformation and action scenes, a production-material gallery, creditless opening and ending sequences, commercials, dance lessons and lyric videos featuring Cure Idol, Cure Wink and Cure Kyun-Kyun. The discs have picture labels and come with a newly illustrated jacket by the series’ character designer.
