Higurashi: When They Cry — Sotsu began broadcasting in July 2021.

Lavish first-production extras for fans include an outer case newly illustrated by Akio Watanabe and storyboards! The publisher's first-production edition feature an outer case illustrated by character designer Akio Watanabe, storyboards and a special booklet in each volume. Volume 1 additionally features a soundtrack CD containing newly recorded incidental music by Kenji Kawai. These physical extras depend on the first-production edition and are not guaranteed with this regular-edition offer.

Story Far from the city, surrounded by richly preserved nature, lies the village of Hinamizawa.
