Kamen Rider, the extraordinary hero who first appeared in 1971 and sparked a nationwide boom, celebrates his fiftieth anniversary! To commemorate the occasion, these Blu-ray selections bring together outstanding episodes from the Showa-era productions that established the series.

Kamen Rider began broadcasting in 1971 and ignited Japan's transformation craze. Its popularity endured through the Showa and Heisei eras and remains undiminished in Reiwa. These Showa Kamen Rider selections mark the series' fiftieth anniversary.

The first selection contains thirty episodes from the enormously popular Kamen Rider and Kamen Rider V 3. Riders One and Two, V 3 and Riderman take on the armies of monsters sent by Shocker, Gel-Shocker and Destron!

Kamen Rider contributes twenty episodes: episode one, The Mysterious Spider Man; two, The Terrifying Bat Man; eight, Strange! Bee Woman; fourteen, The Demon Sabotegron's Attack; fifteen, Sabotegron Strikes Back; twenty-six, The Terrifying Antlion; thirty-nine, Monster Wolf Man's Murderous Grand Party; forty, Deadly Battle! Monster Snowman vs. Two Riders; forty-one, Magma Monster Ghoster's Decisive Battle at Sakurajima; fifty-one, Stone Monster Unicornos vs. the Double Rider Kick; fifty-two, My Name Is the Monstrous Birdman Gilgaras!; fifty-three, Monster Jaguar Man's Desperate Motorcycle Battle; sixty-eight, Dr. Shinigami's Terrifying True Identity?; seventy-two, Bloodsucking Mosquilas vs. Two Riders; seventy-three, Defeat the Double Riders!! Shiomaneking; seventy-nine, Ambassador Hell's Terrifying True Identity?!; eighty, Gel-Shocker Appears! Kamen Rider's Last Day!!; ninety-three, Eight Kamen Riders; ninety-four, The Gel-Shocker Leader's True Identity!!; and ninety-eight, Gel-Shocker Annihilated! The Leader's End!! Riders One and Two Return!!; thirty-four, A Narrow Escape! Baron Fang vs. Three Riders!!; forty-three, Friend or Foe? The Mysterious Riderman; forty-four, V 3 vs. Riderman; fifty-one, You Are Rider Number Four!!; and fifty-two, Destron's Last Day. Its cast includes Hiroshi Miyauchi, Akira Yamaguchi, Shoji Kobayashi, Hizuru Ono, Hideki Kawaguchi, Jotaro Senba and Eiji Go.

The video bonus is the thirty-two-minute theatrical film Kamen Rider V 3 vs. Destron Monsters, released in July 1973. Original first-press copies included a booklet; this extra depends on the copy supplied. The programs are recorded in standard-definition 480i picture quality.
