My Hero Academia Animation

He could not become a hero, but he still wants to save someone. This is a relatable story of growth among heroes who act outside the law. The long-awaited animated adaptation brings the official My Hero Academia spin-off to the screen.

My Hero Academia was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump for ten years and became an explosive worldwide success. This spin-off, originally serialized in Shonen Jump+, tells a story set several years before it.

In this superhuman society, around eighty percent of the world's population has extraordinary powers. Amid the confusion, heroes are the chosen professionals who protect people from accidents, disasters and villains who misuse their Quirks. Yet even those who were never chosen cannot always stop themselves from helping someone in front of them. This is the story of those unlicensed heroes: the vigilantes.

Koichi Haimawari is an unremarkable university student who has abandoned his dream of becoming a hero. His secret pleasure is roaming the streets dressed as All Might, pretending to be a professional hero while doing whatever he can to help people.

His ordinary life changes when he meets Pop Step, a self-proclaimed idol who performs unauthorized street shows, and Knuckleduster, a mysterious masked man who calls himself a specialist in cleaning up scum. Their encounters draw Koichi into vigilante activities.

Are these people who help others outside the law criminals disrupting order, or a self-appointed force for justice? The story of the unlicensed heroes begins.

Supplementary videos include the creditless ending, lyric videos, a full-length in-world commercial and the announcement of the second season.
