Lupin III Operation Return the Treasure Blu-ray

Lupin III Operation Return the Treasure Blu-ray sends the master thief on an unusual assignment: returning stolen valuables instead of taking them. Following the will of Mark, an elderly thief who was both his friend and rival, Lupin and his companions have seven days to return six treasures that Mark stole during his lifetime.

Their reward is the Trick Diamond, a mysterious treasure associated with Antoni Gaudi that absorbs light completely and keeps it reflecting inside. Completing Mark's last request becomes a struggle with mafia boss Ratts and his men, who also want the diamond. The mission pits Lupin's ingenuity against a deadline and a rival determined to claim the prize.

Jun Kawagoe directs the special from a screenplay by Hiroshi Kashiwabara, with music by Yuji Ohno. Kanichi Kurita, Kiyoshi Kobayashi, Makio Inoue, Eiko Masuyama and Goro Naya return as Lupin, Jigen, Goemon, Fujiko and Inspector Zenigata. Koichi Yamadera voices Ratts, alongside Joji Yanami as Mark, Koichi Kitamura as Tokarev, Rei Igarashi as Misha and Rino as Anita.

The 91-minute programme is presented on one region-free, dual-layer Blu-ray in 4:3 1080i, with Japanese Linear PCM 2.0 stereo audio and no subtitles. The disc content matches the version previously included in the 2010 TV-special Blu-ray collection.
