Lupin III Alcatraz Connection Blu-ray

Lupin III Alcatraz Connection Blu-ray takes Lupin and his companions to a casino ship off San Francisco, where an attempt to steal a fortune is thwarted by Inspector Zenigata. Acting on Lupin's advance warning, the inspector appears to have spoiled the gang's plans, but the casino money was never the thief's real objective.

Lupin is pursuing the secret of the Yankee Slade, a ship that sank in treacherous waters with an immense cargo of gold. His search sets up a three-way confrontation between his own group, the secret society known as the Secret Seven and a mysterious band of men in black. The failed robbery becomes the opening move in a much larger struggle over the sunken ship's secrets.

Directed by Hideki Tonokatsu and written by Hiroshi Kashiwabara, the special features music by Yuji Ohno. Kanichi Kurita, Kiyoshi Kobayashi, Makio Inoue, Eiko Masuyama and Goro Naya reprise the principal cast, joined by Taro Ishida as Terry, Akio Otsuka as Andy and Tomoko Kawakami as Monica.

This single-disc release contains the 91-minute programme on a region-free, dual-layer Blu-ray. The picture is presented in 4:3 1080i with Japanese Linear PCM 2.0 stereo audio and no subtitles. Its disc content matches the version previously included in the 2010 TV-special Blu-ray collection.
