Lupin III Tokyo Crisis Blu-ray

Lupin III Tokyo Crisis Blu-ray brings the hunt for the Tokugawa family's treasure to Tokyo Bay. Two photographic plates, known as Tatsumi no Yoshinobu and Inui no Yoshinobu, reveal the treasure's location. They have fallen into the hands of businessman Michael Suzuki, owner of the enormous Aquapolis development under construction on the bay.

As Lupin and his companions begin their plan to steal the plates, Inspector Zenigata's pursuit ends with the inspector himself being arrested for a traffic violation. He nevertheless starts an investigation of his own with reporter Maria Isshiki, whose past is connected to Suzuki. The competing investigations bring the treasure hunt and the reporter's personal history together.

Toshiya Shinohara directs the special from a screenplay by Shinzo Fujita, accompanied by Yuji Ohno's music. Kanichi Kurita, Kiyoshi Kobayashi, Makio Inoue, Eiko Masuyama and Goro Naya return as Lupin and the familiar cast. Koichi Yamadera plays Michael Suzuki, while Megumi Hayashibara voices Maria Isshiki.

The 93-minute programme is presented on one region-free, dual-layer Blu-ray in 4:3 1080p, with Japanese Linear PCM 2.0 stereo audio and no subtitles. The disc content matches the version previously included in the 2010 TV-special Blu-ray collection.
