Space Battleship Yamato: The Movie —4KRemaster,4KUltra HDBlu-ray & Blu-ray Disc, Regular Edition

Everything brings back memories. After half a century, humanity's final hope, Yamato, weighs anchor! Space Battleship Yamato: The Movie, a foundation of Japanese animation, has been remastered in 4K! After half a century, the picture and sound from its original theatrical release are revived with the latest technology. The original negatives were rediscovered and restored. The master positive film underwent 4Kscanning,4Kremastering and HDR conversion. Damage and fine scratches were thoroughly corrected to reproduce the film's information vividly. Newly discovered magnetic-recording master material provides greater dynamic range and sound quality.

Story The year is 2199. Earth has been attacked by the mysterious interstellar nation Gamilas and faces destruction. Radiation contamination from planet bombs has spread across the entire surface, steadily poisoning the people who have escaped into underground cities. The Earth Defence Force has also been defeated. When all hope has been lost, a message arrives from Queen Starsha of the planet Iscandar,148,000light-years away. Iscandar is said to possess the Cosmo CleanerD, a device capable of removing the radiation and saving Earth from destruction. The message also entrusts humanity with plans for the Wave Motion Engine, a power system far beyond its technological level!

Recorded contents The theatrical film on both a 4KUltra HDBlu-ray and a standard Blu-ray. Trailer and television-spot collections per disc. Manufacturer-listed 1977initial-release Starsha Death version: restored using a newly rediscovered negative dated July 5,1977, with 4Kscanning,4Kremastering and HDR conversion.
